Why Hard Water Changes the Math

Hill Country water comes out of limestone, loaded with calcium. Left unmanaged, high calcium hardness drives scale onto your tile line, clouds the water, and shortens the life of heaters and salt cells. Balancing a pool here isn't the same as balancing one in softer water — you have to actively manage the saturation index, not just chlorine and pH.

Chemical Balancing FAQs

How often should pool water be tested?
In the Texas summer, twice a week is ideal because heat and bather load burn chlorine fast. Our weekly service tests and balances on every visit; if you maintain between visits, test your own water mid-week too.
Why does my pool keep getting cloudy?
Cloudy water usually means chemistry has drifted — often high pH, high calcium, or a sanitizer dip — or the filter needs attention. We diagnose which it is and correct it rather than just dumping in clarifier.
Can you fix scaling on my tile?
We prevent further scale by managing calcium hardness and saturation, and we can recommend or perform tile cleaning for existing buildup. The key is fixing the chemistry so it doesn't come right back.
Do you balance salt water pools?
Yes. Salt pools still need full chemistry management plus salt-level monitoring and cell care — hard water scales salt cells quickly, so we keep an eye on both.
